You want to make a real difference?
Life Launch equips volunteers to make real relational connections with young adults from hard places, making it possible for them to write a new ending to their story. These are the first steps to become a Life Launch volunteer mentor.
Step 1
Meet Us
Email us to schedule a time to meet. This will be an informal time to get to know each other and address any questions you may have.
sitg@sitgm.org

Step 2
Watch Training
Block out 3 hours to watch a live volunteer training from earlier this year. This is the biggest time commitment you’ll make to the application process, but it is pivotal to understanding the goals and processes of Life Launch and to your successful Life Launch relationships.
Step 3
Complete the Training Questionnaire
Take our short quiz that was sent to your email after viewing the training video to ensure that you caught the most important details from training. Your results are automatically submitted to your Program Manager.

Step 4
Submit Your Application
Mentor Application: After you have watch the training video and completed the followup questionnaire, you will be emailed a link to our online volunteer application. After reviewing your completed application, our Life Launch program staff will follow up with you.
Mentee Application: If you are a young adult who would like to have your own personal Life Launch small group, please submit the application at this link. After submitting your application, please complete our Hope Survey.
Step 5
Background Check
After completing steps 1 through 4, you will be sent an email with a link to authorize and submit your background check online. This process costs $14.50. If the cost is an issue, please speak to your Program Manager by emailing lifelaunch@sitgm.org. We will receive a notification when your background check is complete.
Step 6
Matching Process Begins
Upon our receipt of your qualified background check, you are now ready to be matched with a Life Launch small group! This process can take between 20 and 50 days. That’s because we are working hard to create the best team we can for both the volunteers and young adult.
Some of the things we look for when matching Life Launch teams are vocation, common interests, location, hobbies, personality, etc. Once we match you to a team, we will reach out to confirm you are still interested, then schedule a mentor conference call.
What happens after a team is matched?
