Submit Your Application

After you have attended training, complete the mentor application. Our Life Launch Program Manager, Jake Funderburk, will follow up with you.

Step 4

Background Check

After completing the application, you will be sent an email with a link to authorize and submit your background check online. This process costs $20.50. If the cost is an issue, please speak to your Program Manager by emailing lifelaunch@sitgm.org. We will receive a notification when your background check is complete.

Step 5

Matching Process Begins

Upon our receipt of your qualified background check, you are now ready to be matched with a Life Launch small group! This process can take between 3 and 5 weeks. That’s because we are working hard to create the best team we can for both the volunteers and young adult.

Some of the things we look for when matching Life Launch teams are vocation, common interests, location, hobbies, personality, etc. Once we match you to a team, we will reach out to confirm you are still interested, then schedule a mentor conference call.

What happens after a team is matched?

1

Conference Call

Chat with your fellow volunteers and Program Manager by phone. We will discuss your young adult's history, strengths, and struggles, and current life circumstances.
2

Launch Process

Your Program Manager will lead your small group through ice breakers and conversations to help you get to know each other. The Program Manager is not present for future meetings.
3

Life Launch Begins

Begin practicing the six Program Expectations as a team. Your Program Manager will check in monthly and walk with you every step of the way to ensure that your team feels fully supported.
4

Six Month Meeting

After meeting continually for six months, the Six Month Meeting Packet is designed to help your team discuss the progress you have made and look forward to the next six months by setting goals, discussing how your team has grown together, and the highs and lows of your team.
5

Life Launch Graduation

After twelve months, we will schedule your Life Launch graduation celebration! One of the most important parts of the Life Launch process is voicing very clear expectations for what the relationship will look like moving forward. We hope you'll stay connected for years to come, though it's not a requirement. We look forward to celebrating your Life Launch team graduation!
