Time for a mid-year update…

3 Things Dree Wants You to Know

Six months in to 2026, the Stand in the Gap staff is focused on our mission of connecting people in need with people who care.

These are the three stats that are keeping us motivated to participate in God’s work for orphans, widows, and prisoners.

16.8 Million*

*National Fatherhood Initiative

There are 16.8 million fatherless children in America. Studies show these children are at higher risk for poverty, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, and emotional challenges like depression and anxiety. They NEED connection. They NEED relational support.

This is why Life Launch exists — to make a difference in the lives of young adults through meaningful mentorship and community. Small groups of mentors provide the emotional and social support that can help change a young person’s trajectory for life.

Around 90% of our Life Launch graduates accomplish their GED or high school diploma after entering the program at risk of not finishing. Those accomplishments build confidence, stability, and readiness for whatever comes next in life.

You can mentor. Mentoring will not only help shape the life of the young adult you serve, but it will shape you as well.

41%*

*National Library of Medicine
The mortality rate increases 41% during the first 6 months after losing a spouse. Grief, isolation, depression, and the sudden loss of support can deeply impact a widow’s physical and emotional health.

This is why our work with widows matters so much. Through connection, encouragement, and community, we are helping widows around the world continue living and thriving with hope.

Our Held in Hope Conference is designed for widows, leaders of widow groups and ministries, and church leaders who want to better support widows in their communities.

30,000*

* University of Oklahoma

On any given day in Oklahoma, there are 30,000 children with one or both parents in prison.

What if the mothers represented in that number had a chance to learn to live differently? What if they were treated with dignity and care in a way that invited them into true life transformation through Jesus?

Not only could their lives change, but the lives of their children could be set on a completely different trajectory for generations to come.

Our Women in Transition program is now reaching more women than ever before through tablet technology in jails and prisons. Our curriculum is now available in over 300 county jails, giving women the opportunity to learn about boundaries, financial literacy, soul healing, self-care, and self-worth.

But when these women reach out to us, we want to do more than provide curriculum. We want to surround them with loving mentor teams who can continue walking alongside them in healing, growth, and hope.

Have you ever considered being a mentor? We need you!
