Did you know Stand in the Gap is on YouVersion?
As our ministry to widows has grown, we’ve worked to make our support available even to widows who don’t have access to one of our small groups or partner organizations. Enter, YouVersion. Through this partnership, we’ve published 8 plans on topics ranging from the practical to the inspirational, relationship shifts and solo parenting to loneliness and embracing vulnerability. These plans have reached over 23,000 people in 151 countries.
Our most recent plan was written by Stand in the Gap for Widows Program Director, Amy Woody. “Community and Hope” focuses on the hope God provides through community. Check it out here!
We are so grateful for our partnership with YouVersion that allows us to come alongside widows who we would otherwise not have the opportunity to support.
Our efforts to build community for widows (and the people who serve them) don’t end online though!
In October 2026, Stand in the Gap will host our first ever conference for widows! “Held in Hope” will be a faith-based gathering designed to strengthen widows, equip ministry leaders, and mobilize churches to reflect God’s compassion. Together, we seek to ensure that no widow walks alone and every church is prepared to love, support, and serve widows with wisdom, dignity, and faith.
Our prayer is that every widow leaves knowing she is held in hope, and every church leaves ready to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Held in Hope will take place October 8 and 9 at First Baptist Jenks and registration is open now!
Donate now to support Held in Hope and all our efforts to connect people in need with people who care.
