July’s 8 Hope Highlights

By July 28, 2021June 24th, 2022No Comments

In an increasingly unstable world,

hope is still the most important thing.

This month, we are sharing some of our “hope highlights” from the last 4 weeks.
May these short stories bring you hope.

We're back!!

This month, we got back into Oklahoma County Jail and Oklahoma Community Correctional Center to teach our Women in Transition class. We are now back in every facility that we were in before COVID. It has been a TOUGH year for women behind prison/jail walls. We'd appreciate your prayers as we go back in to share hope with women who have been especially isolated and vulnerable for the last 15 months.

Reunited and It Feels So Good

This month, Cherish got to celebrate reunification with her children. Reuniting families that have been separated by generational cycles of addiction and/or incarceration is one of the primary reasons our Women in Transition program exists. We are passionate about helping mothers get healthy so they can be the parents they always wanted to be for their kids, break the cycle, and create a legacy of hope!

Alisha and Rhonda WIT

From Prison to VBS

Alisha volunteered with our Rhonda Bear at Vacation Bible School this month. And Alisha's son Maddox attended. We celebrate how far this mom and son have come and can't wait to see what God has in store for their lives.

Happy Birthday (to a lot of us)!!

It’s July! Which is apparently birthday month at Stand in the Gap! We celebrated TJ Warren’s, Alicia Keathley’s, Shaunte Gordon’s, and Rhonda Bear’s birthdays this month! On a staff of 12, that’s a huge percentage of us getting one year older! It’s a joy to work on this team and we loved celebrating each of these people on their special days.

In Their Words...

Two separate small group volunteers said sweet things about their teams this month. "You want to be a big sister? A little time makes a big difference in our ladies lives! A little sharing a lot of laughs and of course some first time fun 😬😀🤪" And, "One thing I love about SITG - It becomes scheduled times with friends.❤️" THIS is what it's all about.
