Hope is...Stand in the Gap

May’s 8 Hope Highlights

By May 26, 2020June 24th, 2022No Comments

In an increasingly unstable world,

hope is still the most important thing.

This month, we are sharing some of our “hope highlights” from the last 4 weeks.
May these short stories bring you hope.

Lunch Delivery

Two of our Stand in the Gap Women in Transition graduates, Kristal and Kyrra, went out of their way to feed the employees at Eddie Warrior Correctional Facility. God put the idea in their hearts, so they filled the car with food and went back to prison. What a beautiful gift!

Happy Mother's Day

Rhonda Bear was surrounded by her surrogate daughters for Mother’s Day. Her His House Ministries family came together to celebrate reunited families and new chapters thanks to the investment and love of Rhonda Bear. It was a day that she felt relaxed and loved in a way she so deserves!

Silver Lining

Our Life Launch Program Managers continue to check in with their teams. Overall, they are encouraged to see how these small groups are leaning in to each other, even when they can't be together. They've reported several zany and creative ways that teams are staying connected and many say they feel closer than ever!

From the Beginning

Rhonda Bear got to celebrate the beginning of a new life! She supported Dusty through her labor and even cut the cord when Grayson was born. Mother and baby are well and celebrated with her Stand in the Gap family!

Taking Pen to Paper

We asked Rhonda and Kathy to make a list of ladies they know and love in prison. A number of volunteers have come forward to write letters of encouragement and hope to these ladies while they live through lockdown and uncertainty. We are grateful to these volunteers for sharing the love!

A PPE Present

Life.Church donated 400 masks for our Life Launch and Women in Transition programs! We will share these masks with clients and volunteers as we begin to get back together.

Changed the Ending

This month, we celebrated Dustie's graduation from drug court and paying off thousands of dollars in fines and court costs. She is reunited with her children, a leader in ministry at her church, the manager of She Brews coffee house, and leading other women on the path to recovery. Thank God for this beautiful story!
