One of the things I love most about the Old Testament is that it speaks from a communal perspective rather than the American ideal of individualism.
When scripture says, “Train up a child in the way they should go,” that directive is for the plural “you” – what we in Oklahoma might simply call “y’all.”
And that pattern continues throughout Scripture:
Y’all serve the poor.
Y’all take up the case of the fatherless.
Y’all defend the widow.
God’s instructions were never meant for just one person to carry alone. They were given to the community of God. And the longer I serve in this work, the more I see the wisdom in that. It takes all of us!!!
We each have a part to play in making sure care, kindness, provision, and guidance reach those who need it.
Our program directors are leading and strengthening the work.
Our volunteers are mentoring and walking alongside women in small groups.
Our partners are connecting us to people who need care.
And our donors are funding the work that simply could not happen otherwise.
This is why we are launching the Bridge Builders Monthly Giving Program.
We want to invite you to join the “y’all” through monthly giving. And let me say clearly: this is no small part!
Monthly giving allows us to budget wisely, plan strategically, and scale the work into the future. Right now, we are seeing opportunities for growth over the next three years that could expand this mission in incredible ways. The single biggest factor that will determine whether we can step into those opportunities is growing our base of monthly supporters.
Would you prayerfully consider what part of the “y’all” might be yours?
We have several giving levels that help support specific parts of the mission — or you can create your own. Every dollar helps move the work forward and ensures the mission continues.
You can join us by filling out the form on this page!
Together, we can make sure no “orphan, widow, or prisoner” walks alone.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
Grace & Peace,
Dree
