Hope is...Stand in the Gap

March’s 5 Hope Highlights

By March 23, 2021June 24th, 2022No Comments

In an increasingly unstable world,

hope is still the most important thing.

This month, we are sharing some of our “hope highlights” from the last 4 weeks.
May these short stories bring you hope.

WIT God Sighting

Did you know that our Women in Transition classes are taught by formerly incarcerated women that have been successful in completing the program and desire for other women to have the same chance they had?

Julian, a WIT graduate, is now leading a class at Heather's Hope!

Our course facilitators share their personal stories as well as practical education about anger management, the power of “no”, characteristics of co-dependency, dealing with stress, communication skills, facing addiction, and more.

When these ladies graduate, they will need a Stand in the Gap small group to walk them through their transition process, offering encouragement, mentoring, and most importantly, providing prayer support.

Standing in the Gap for Widows

Our Stand in the Gap for Widows team recently met and are excited about the new avenues they are creating for our church partners to fulfill their calling to look after His widows (James 1:2).  STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES!

WIT Graduation Celebration

Women in Transition Stand in the Gap family Team Sara graduated!

We love having a front row seat to witness God at work. We are saving you a seat!

We have precious women like Sara WAITING for a Women in Transition mentor family in the Oklahoma City area.

A mentor family commits to meet in their small group at least twice a month, for a minimum of one year. A Stand in the Gap small group walks with a woman through her transition process, offering encouragement, mentoring, and most importantly, providing prayer support.

Team John Graduated!

"We had the best time celebrating all the accomplishments from the last year. There is much to celebrate from what this team did, but what I was most impressed to see was the dynamic the team had established to accomplish such wonderful goals.

John was able to finish his education, get into housing, and many many other things, however what I want to highlight about this team is their ability to lean in and establish trust with John.

It was clear that the changes that were able to be accomplished were a direct result of the trust and respect that was built through the consistency of the mentors and their desire to lean in and love John moment by moment. In his own words, he said that he would not be the person his is or achieved what he did without the support and encouragement of his mentors.

We are so thankful for this last year, and look forward to what is to come for John!" - Hayden Coffee, Life Launch Program Manager
