November’s 7 Hope Highlights

Newfound Independence

Barrett's Life Launch team was by his side when he got his new car! They helped him through the process of getting his tag and title. Thanks to his new set of wheels, Barrett can drive himself to his job without needing to rely on housemates. Our Program Manager, Alicia Keathley, says "He's been working to get a car for a while now and was so excited." A big step for Barrett (and a trend for November, as you'll notice)!

"2020 hasn't been all bad!"

Sorta Returning to Normal...

For obvious reasons, it's been months since our Women in Transition staff has been able to teach our course inside prison walls. But this month, our OKC Program Manager, Kathy Peacock, got to get back into the Women in Transition "classroom" by teaching our course at ReMerge. ReMerge is an alternative to incarceration that shares our passion for reuniting healthy, educated, empowered women with their children and stopping the generational cycle of incarceration. Kathy also sent Women in Transition course books into the county jail, where women have expressed interest in working through the material themselves, sending homework to Kathy for review on a regular basis!

Another Set of Wheels

Last month, we celebrated Malik's graduation from Life Launch. This month, we celebrate the car he was able to purchase after a lot of hard work, dedicated saving, and support from his community. His Life Launch team may not be meeting regularly anymore, but they celebrated this accomplishment with Malik! Thank you Brennan, Miranda, and Boggey for walking alongside him and supporting him in life!

New Small Groups (But We Still Need Volunteers)

We are celebrating our newest Women in Transition small group and wish the best to Carrie, Katie, and Sandra! But at the same time, we have 9 women waiting to be surrounded with kind, patient, and prayerful small groups in the OKC area. That's a Wrap!

We released our final Episode of Hope this month. (Don't miss Dustie's awesome story of renewal and restoration of her family!!) This campaign replaced our annual fundraising live events and was a new experience in uncharted territory for us. You responded! You raised over $180,000 (and counting) and brought hope to the most vulnerable among us. Thank you!

And Another New Set of Wheels!!

Rebeka's Women in Transition small group celebrated her new car with her this month! Rebeka has worked so hard to make this purchase and we are so excited for the newfound independence it will bring to her life. For so many of the people we serve, owning a car is a very practical step on their road to job security and therefore financial freedom. It's not just a car, it's the progress and promise that it represents! Go, Rebeka!
